A Note of Appreciation and Renewed Vigor for 2021

As 2020 draws to a close, so too do we complete our 25th year as Profit Point Inc. For many, 2020 has brought unique challenges and opportunities. For our team, the year has been a continuation of many of the tried-and-true practices we have established and implemented over the past quarter of a century.

We are incredibly proud of our team’s commitment to excellence, can-do attitude and practical, problem-solving nature. Reflecting on our staying power throughout 2020, we see three core areas where Profit Point’s long-term experience positions us well for the next chapter ahead.

Work from Home

Profit Point embraced the work-from-home model right from our founding in 1995. The three main challenges we identified and embraced from the start include:

  • Using remote technologies to stay connected and engaged with our customers
  • Nurturing a sense of community amongst our staff and work-team
  • Clear communications to grow our eco-system of customers, partners and employees

Despite being dispersed across the country, something that helps us stay more flexible to our client’s needs, we make it a point to gather as a team every year to re-charge. While Zoom had to suffice for 2020, we enjoyed a time of sharing and celebrating together.

Responding to Supply Chain Disruption Quickly and Effectively

The single biggest benefit we provide to our customer base is providing business processes and technology that allow them to quickly respond to disruptions in their operations with cost-effective solutions to manage their supply chains. Over the past three decades, this has included supporting responses to Tsunamis (Japan 2011), Port Closures (California 2012) and Covid-19 (Worldwide 2020). By implementing and supporting supply chain planning and scheduling tools that can be quickly modified to represent fast-changing world conditions, we have enabled our customers to analyze, design and implement effective changes to their material flows to meet customer demands in the most profitable way.

Finding Competitive Advantage in Response to Unique Emerging Business Conditions

The competitive environment for business is never static. It is an ever-evolving marketplace with new threats and opportunities. We are keen to help our customers identify the emerging trends and develop cost-effective ways to respond to both the threats and the opportunities to make their businesses more profitable. While we have a strong focus on the supply chain side of the business, we also address other business optimization opportunities. This has included workforce optimization, international tax management, sports and school scheduling, industry event management, and marketing resource allocation.

2020 has been full of the unexpected for all of us. Over the past 25 years, we at Profit Point have taken the path less travelled to do fun work that has meaningful impact to our customers and the world beyond them. And it has made all the difference.
